The Polygon network is a Layer 2 solution working on top of the Ethereum blockchain which supports new and upcoming ethereum-compatible blockchains.
Polygon has seen a steady growth in NFT purchases and creation on their network due to the massively reduced gas fees. Users still have to transfer ETH to the Polygon network however that is the only time they will pay gas fees.
On April 8th, Polygon studios announced that the first ever NFT mint from space would be happening using the Polygon network.
The mint will be conducted by Axiom Space, a space infrastructure developer who recognizes the benefits Web 3.0 is already bringing to users around the world.
The NFT in question is Axiom Space’s own Web 3.0 art. Not only will you be buying a piece of history, you will be granted insight into a human spaceflight.
The release schedule is:
– 14th April 2022 – Ax-1 Commander NFT mint
– 18th April 2022 – Premium NFT Mints News like this from the Polygon network really makes you believe they might be going to the moon. Not only does it show the insane partnerships that the Polygon network has been able to make, but the progress that the NFT, Web 3.0 and crypto community as a whole are making. Although events like these may be trivial to some, if mass adoption comes to the crypto space, it will be events like these which we may remember for decades to come.
